Robert Lee Nichols2008 Addition
Robert Lee is another Westside Indian who has joined the Cubs this year. Without a doubt Robert Lee was the most improved Indian last year from the start of the season to the end of the season. He reminded me alot of Ethan Neal from a few years ago. At the start of the season last year Robert Lee could barely play catch, but through hard work he began to pitch and play shortstop for the Indians and he did rather well at both. I don't think I have ever seen a kid improve as much from the start of a baseball season to the end of the baseball season as Robert did in 2007. We are very pleased that Robert Lee decided to play baseball this year and even happier to have him on the Cubs. If he continues to work as hard this year as he did last year and improves a fraction as much the Cubs will be well-stocked at all positions. We'll have to see where all the boys are skill-wise, after not having picked up a glove since the Championship game, but I'm sure Robert Lee will be able to put pressure on all our starters from last year He could end up with a starting spot if he works hard during practice and at home and if he wants it more than one of our other boys. I am confidant from what I saw in the Cubs-Indians game in 2007 that Robert Lee will fit in nicely with the Cubs philosophy.
