Trey spent the whole winter working out.......and eating apparently, because he's grown a foot. Twelve inches actually because with the size of his feet, he could not use another foot. His trainer thinks he's ready for first base.  If so, this will open up alot of possibilities for the Cubs and make us a much stronger ball team.

Last year was Trey's first year in baseball.  He had great form and we viewed him as a diamond in the rough. Trey has a beautiful swing with a lot of power.  He is probably one of the strongest players we have.  It was simply a matter of time before he combined strength and form and produced the results we anticipated.  This could be the year in which Trey blossoms.

Trey played left field for us last year.  He would actually make an ideal first basemen with his size and hitting power. Trey also has the "lip" that every great ball player (especially a first baseman) needs, which I think was a genetic trait inherited from his mother. (I've known Barbara for 24 years and she still reminds me of the "to do" list she gave me when I worked part-time at Kmart while I was a Teacher at Dalton High School.  I graded the "to-do" list, corrected her misspellings, and gave it back to her.  While' it's funny 24 years later, I don't think she saw the humor then, and her son is punishing me for it now.)  He actually would have made a great catcher, since opposing batters would have been so confused with his "talk" that they probably could not have concentrated on the next pitch. This probably is one of the things that makes him such a great lineman on the Westside football team.

As Trey continues to work at home and at each Cubs practice he will continue to progress.  The more time he puts in at home, the quicker he will realize results.  Trey is naturally gifted.  he simply needs repetition. Once Trey starts to drive the ball, the Cubs will be a murderer's Row batting line-up.
