Westside Cubs vs. New Hope Braves
Our New Hope game was a real nail biter. The score went back and forth, until we could finally pull in front and remain there. The game finished at Westside 10 Tunnel Hill 8. We scored three runs in the top of the first on a single by Ethan Hayes, and a Home run by Drew Guffey. Drew hit the ball so hard, we had to retire the baseball, and dig out another new ball to finish the game. Tunnel Hill came back in their half of the first and tied the game at 3-3. Drew Guffey went in to pitch with one out in the first and held the Braves without scoring anymore runs in the first. The Cubs scored two more runs in the 2nd inning to make the score 5-3. Blake Ownbey got a single and Jackson Bell and Chip Brown both scored runs. Tunnel Hill scored one run in the 2nd and 2 runs in the 3rd to go ahead 7-5. Logan Hilton came in in relief in the third inning striking out the side and allowing no more runs. In the Cubs top half of the fourth inning, we scored 5 runs and the inning was called due to the 5-run rule. This put the Cubs in front 10 - 7. In the final inning Logan Hilton allowed one run on a hit batsman and a walk and struck out 3 to get the win. Westside Cubs 10 New Hope Bruins 8
