Trey Hasty
Batting
Trey is relatively new to baseball,. but you can see by his form that he will be a great player once he gets his timing put together with his mechanical skills. Trey has a beautiful swing with a lot of power. He is probably one of the strongest players we have. Its simply a matter of time before he combines strength and form and produces the results we anticipate. As Trey continues to work at home and at each Cubs practice he will continue to progress. The more time he puts in at home the quicker he will realize results. Trey is naturally gifted. he simply needs repetition. Once Trey starts to drive the ball, the Cubs will be a murderer's Row batting line-up. Trey plays left field for us this year. He would make an ideal third basemen in the years to come. He could play third base this year for many teams. Unfortunately, as many players learn, the Cubs have a number of quality players. During the Spring, the coaches gave every player an opportunity to play a number of different positions. Since this is Trey's first year with the Cubs, he will have an opportunity to watch and learn as we work with all the positions on the field. He could be ready for third base before this year ends if he works hard between games and practices. We are constantly evaluating how our Cubs progress.
